The unnecessary high-pressure world of media and creative arts in the local church can often have an explosive mixture of confusion, mis-communication, and frustration. It is no surprise that often times, this department in churches has the highest employee turnover rate. We tend to make things harder than they actually are when it comes to the processes that we use to create things in the church. We overthink, over analyze, and let too many factors (and people) cloud the process. Over the years, backwards, emotionally-driven, and ineffective creative processes have led to such great Christian works of art as Lord’s Gym t-shirts and Plus One.

Well, we are here to help. Allow me to present to you the first-ever Stc free resource: a highly-detailed workflow and procedural breakdown for a church media art team. It includes sample time lines for specific projects, such as a mass mail piece or a monthly print piece. Also included is a departmental breakdown and role management charts showing how all the necessary pieces should work together smoothly.

Granted, this is not going to be the end of all problems on your staff, but something like this, that is custom-tailored to fit your needs, will go a long way towards healthy, effective internal communication. We would like to see other examples of this sort of thing or even adaptions of this same one.
